‘Beauty in Black’ Season 3 trailer puts Kimmie at the center of a Bellarie war

After fighting her way from the margins of the Bellarie world to a seat at its most powerful table, Kimmie is entering a new era — but Tyler Perry’sBeauty in Blackis making it clear that getting power and keeping it are two very different things.

Netflix has confirmed thatBeauty in BlackSeason 3 will premiereAug. 27, 2026, with alleight episodesarriving at once. The newly released trailer shows Kimmie, played by Taylor Polidore Williams, attempting to protect everything she gained as the Bellarie family descends into another round of blackmail, betrayal and revenge.

Season 2 dramatically changed Kimmie’s position within the Bellarie empire.

The former exotic dancer spent much of the series fighting to survive a world controlled by people with more money, influence and protection than she had. By the end of Season 2, however, Kimmie was no longer simply trying to survive the Bellaries. She had become one of the people making decisions.

The finale brought Kimmie together with two particularly unexpected allies: Mallory Bellarie, played by Crystle Stewart, and Kimmie’s husband, Horace Bellarie, played by Ricco Ross.

During a dramatic boardroom confrontation, the three moved against members of the Bellarie family after turning information over to federal authorities. Roy, Charles, Norman and Olivia were among those caught in the fallout as the family’s business and personal secrets came crashing into the open.

The move effectively rewrote the Bellarie hierarchy.

Now Kimmie has to find out whether she can actually control what she fought so hard to obtain.

Netflix says Season 3 finds her fully stepping into her power, but Williams has teased that maintaining that position becomes the real challenge. The trailer reinforces that idea: Kimmie may be sitting at the table, but nearly everyone around it still has an agenda.

Perhaps the biggest shift heading into the new season is the relationship between Kimmie and Mallory.

For much ofBeauty in Black, the two women represented opposing sides of the Bellarie power structure. Mallory had money, position and familiarity with the family empire. Kimmie entered that world from the outside and gradually learned how to use its own rules against the people controlling it.

Season 2 finally brought them onto the same side.

According to Netflix, that partnership becomes increasingly important in Season 3 as a deadly family feud forces Kimmie and Mallory into an uneasy alliance. Together, they must navigate blackmail, revenge and secrets capable of bringing down the Bellarie empire itself.

That does not necessarily make them friends.

Stewart told Netflix that the Bellarie family has traditionally maintained control through division and people turning against one another. Kimmie and Mallory finding common ground threatens that strategy and forces everybody else to adjust.

In other words, two of the show's strongest players may have finally realized they can cause far more damage together than apart.

Whether that alliance survives the season is another question.

The Season 3 trailer suggests the arrests at the end of Season 2 did not solve the Bellarie family's problems. They may have created even more.

Netflix is already teasing questions surrounding who remains behind bars, who controls Delinda’s Dolls and Dudes and how Kimmie and Mallory's partnership will affect the battle for the larger family empire.

There is also Jules.

Played by Charles Malik Whitfield, the Bellarie family's longtime head of security is still dealing with the death of his son Glen. Jules suspects people connected to Kimmie may know more about what happened, leaving another potentially dangerous conflict hanging over the new season.

That creates a familiarBeauty in Blackproblem: Almost every victory comes attached to another threat.

Netflix has confirmed the return of several major members of the ensemble.

Taylor Polidore Williams returns asKimmie, withCrystle Stewartas Mallory andRicco Rossas Horace. The returning cast also includesAmber Reign Smith, Xavier Smalls, Julian Horton, Steven G. Norfleet, Richard Lawson, Terrell Carter, Bryan Tanaka, Charles Malik Whitfield and Debbi Morgan.

The expanding conflict gives Perry plenty of characters to move around the board as alliances continue to change.

Whatever happens during those eight episodes will not completely resolve the Bellarie saga.

Netflix announced July 23 thatBeauty in Blackhad received an early Season 4 renewal. Perry, who created, writes, directs and executive produces the series, said there was more of the Bellarie story he wanted to explore. Additional details about the fourth season have not yet been announced.

The renewal also changes the stakes surrounding Season 3. Instead of preparing for a final chapter, viewers can now watch for which relationships, rivalries and unanswered questions Perry carries forward.

For Kimmie, the larger question remains the oneBeauty in Blackhas been building toward from the beginning.

She survived the club. She entered the Bellarie family. She married into its empire. She earned a seat at the table.

Now she has to prove she can keep it.
